Network Analyst October 2000 to January 2001

Contracted to the Department of Central Management Services for the State of Illinois.  Provided Level 2 support to end-users.  Mapped entire network using Visio 5 Standard and Enterprise editions.  This project entailed multiple layers including TCP/IP.

 

City of Peoria, Peoria, IL

Hardware/Software Coordinator  September 2000 to October 2000

Project leader for hardware and software trouble calls.  I used various help desk programs (HEAT) manage all calls in a timely manner.  We supported the fire department, the police department, and city hall.

 

BCH & Associates, Springfield, IL

Project Manager/Installation Leader        March 2000 to September 2000

Contract to the Illinois Department of Corrections for the rollout of Computer Associates Innoculan Anti-Virus Suite.  I used MS Project 98 to manage the project.  Platforms included: Win 3.1, 95, 98, Novell 3.12- 4.11, and NT 4.0.

 

Installation Technician. 

Contracted to Orkin for the installation of Lucent Technology’s wireless LAN.  We upgraded the workstations the PC cards and connected the relay box to the server.  Performed trouble-shooting functions.

 

Computerland Technology Group (CTG), Springfield, IL

Network Analyst June 1999 to March 2000

Contracted to Illinois Primary Healthcare Association for Y2K upgrades, Novell 3.12 server maintenance, end user support, ReachOut configuration, Cisco router exchange, network printer installation and configuration, Backup Exec configuration, and performed technical support through Heat calls.  Operating systems included Windows 95 and Windows 98 workstations communicating over a Novell 3.12 server.

 

Sentinel Technologies, Springfield, IL

Network Analyst August 1997 to June 1999

Provided Level 2 support for various clients such as the Illinois Department of Public Aid, Illinois Department of Human Services, R.W. Troxell Insurance, Kerasotes Theatres, and Central Illinois Light Company (CILCO).  Project leader responsible for Y2K auditing and upgrading for DHS.  Lead three teams throughout the state of Illinois.  Synchronized audit schedule with DHS staff.  Updated project staff on project changes and site additions.  Systems Analyst responsible for hardware and software troubleshooting and end user support.  PC Technician responsible for PC installation, upgrades, and support. 

 

Typical support included a major (approx. 1600) rollout of Windows 95 computers, Internet Explorer (dial up and LAN) configuration, Internet Mail configuration, GroupWise Migration from 3.12 to 4.11, Windows NT 4.0 installation, configuration, and support; and installation and support for Win 95-98 and Office 95-97. Other packages included MS Exchange configuration, MS SQL Server 6.0, MS Schedule +, MS Outlook, GroupWise Remote, and miscellaneous network applications over an Ethernet architecture using Novell NETWARE 3.12, 4.11 (administrator functions) and Windows NT Server 4.0 (administrator functions).

Contracted to Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, IL.  Provided Level 2 support and trouble shooting of software and hardware conflicts.  Software packages included: Netscape Navigator, Lotus SmartSuite 3.1-97, Lotus Notes, UEB, cc:Mail, cc:Mail Remote, and RLN 95 (Remote LAN Node).  Operating systems included Win 3.11, WIN 95, OS/2, MAC, and Windows NT Server 3.51.
